The RF (Radio Frequency) Clickers and Receivers feature a two-way transmission protocol that sends student Responses from RF Clickers through the RF Receiver to the PRS software, and status messages from the software through the RF Receiver back to the RF Clicker. The student's Student ID is stored in the RF Clicker's memory and is transmitted with each Response. There is no need to have a Roster associated with the RF Class in order to successfully run an RF hardware-based Session for that Class. The Clicker IDs and Student IDs transmitted with the Responses can be used as the basis for the Roster for the RF Class. There is no need for a Response Map (Class profile) or a Response Grid display during an RF Session as RF Clickers receive confirmation of transmission receipt on their LCD displays. The RF Class is started before a Session can begin, so some of the settings for the new Session have already been addressed.
